WG5 - Interdisciplinary Monitoring

An innovative part of this Action is the “meta-working group” on interdisciplinary interaction. It has been observed in the context of climate research that a multi- disciplinary research action is often missing a clear understanding of the different research and community cultures involved. So, in order to enable interdisciplinary communication in a smooth way and to monitor possible conflicts due to the widely different scientific as well as social cultures involved in this Action, a Working Group for interdisciplinary interaction will be established. More precisely, a tandem (social and tsunami scientist) master project will be devoted to observe, detect, and document specific patterns of interdisciplinary interaction and – as a deliverable – to derive recommendations for future collaboration.
